Beginning of a new adventure<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019ve safely arrived in Kathmandu, eager to get this new adventure underway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Destination: Manaslu (8,163m)\u2014my very first 8,000-meter peak.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After several weeks of physical training and hypoxia conditioning, I\u2019ve reached Kathmandu before continuing on to Samagaun and then Base Camp. Summit push is targeted for late September, following a month and a half on expedition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For this climb, I\u2019ll be joined by two high-altitude specialists:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tshering Pemba Sherpa: A renowned IFMGA-certified mountain guide specializing in 8,000m+ peaks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Orianne Aymard: A renowned keynote speaker and high-altitude mountaineer who has successfully summitted both Lhotse and Mount Everest. I\u2019ll be joining her once at Base Camp.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
