Between crampons
and the Scalpel
My name is Filip Tapella, a medical student with a passion for high-altitude mountaineering.
To me, mountaineering is the art of reaching summits through one’s own physical and mental strength. It is where I find a sense of absolute freedom, far from the beaten path. I want to prove that you can be both a student and an adventurer—and that we must fight every day to live the life that truly inspires us.

Luxembourg
on Top of the World
Mont Blanc was the starting point of a quest where listening to the mountain comes before everything else. From Alpine peaks to Andean summits, every effort and every step is preparation for K2, my ultimate dream.
Representing Luxembourg at these heights is an honor, but the true victory lies in defying the impossible and expanding the boundaries of my own capabilities.
A Dream in Sight:
« Project K2 »
At the end of 2024, I announced my most ambitious project yet: “Project K2.” This is a multi-year preparation leading up to the ascent of K2 (8,611 m) in Pakistan.
K2 is the second-highest peak in the world, but it is famously nicknamed “The Savage Mountain” because it is considered the most technical and one of the most dangerous among the fourteen “8,000ers.”
